Important Note Regarding COVID-19

The health and safety of our Conference delegates are CNAR’s first priority. As the COVID-19 situation continues to evolve, we are closely monitoring the guidance and recommendations of the Public Health Agency of Canada; we will make decisions regarding CNAR 2020 accordingly. Currently, there are no plans to postpone or otherwise alter our event. Our expectation, at this stage, is to proceed with the Conference in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island from October 19-21, 2020. Registration is expected to open in May, 2020. We encourage you to check this page often for updates.

CNAR presents Quashing the Stigma:

A Webinar on Addiction, Mental Illness & Accommodation

Regulators and professionals increasingly recognize mental health as a fact of life to be discussed, addressed, and accommodated. This round-table discussion will aim to provide recommendations on potential and actual changes that may be appropriate for regulators during investigations and potential prosecutions of members. The panel will address the evolving approach to mental health in the context of addiction and, in particular, as it relates the legalization of cannabis and the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. We will also consider differences between a regulator’s duty to accommodate and the duty of an employer, such as a hospital or medical clinic.

This highly-rated session from CNAR's 2019 Annual Conference features (from L-R) Ben Kates, Associate, Stockwoods LLP; Emily Graham, Legal Counsel, College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario; Zohar Levy, Partner, Fasken Martineau DuMoulin LLP; and Daniel Naymark, Principal, Naymark Law.
