October 4th, 2021: Fundamentals in Professional Regulation

The Fundamentals of Regulation Workshop will appeal to anyone who is seeking to learn more about professional regulation in the Canadian context. October 5th, 2021: Explain This!: A Workshop on Reputational Crisis Responses and Communications

Reputational disasters for regulators can arise without warning. A Board or staff member can say something that is completely contrary to the mission and values of the organization. A committee may make an indefensible decision. Using a workshop format (including poll questions and breakout room discussions) attendees will work through how to analyze and respond to six scenarios and will create the outline of the communications plan for each predicament. October 6th, 2021: Good Governance Begins at Home

Regulators are responsible for ensuring the good governance of professionals by setting the standards for professional activities and ensuring - or enforcing - compliance. However, like any organization, preserving and strengthening member and stakeholder confidence starts with the Board or Council. Part of being an effective regulator, therefore, includes providing appropriate training and resources to Board members and being able to avoid or mitigate conflicts and governance issues when they arise.
